Brake Drums

A brake drum is a rotating, bowl-shaped component attached to a vehicle's wheel.

When the brakes are applied, stationary brake shoes press outward against the inside of the drum. The resulting friction slows or stops the wheel.

They are primarily used on the rear wheels of cars and on heavy-duty trucks.
